In the wake of the fire that destroyed the ThunderClan camp in the previous book, the cats have returned to their home and are slowly rebuilding the protections that were lost, all while working to keep the clan members fed and safe. But the problems just seem to be growing exponentially. In this book, Fireheart, now the deputy of ThunderClan, is growing into the job and starting to find ways of solving the clan’s problems. ![]() And the hostile characters – for example Tigerstar – are the sort you really love to hate. ![]() The nice cat characters are really loveable – Fireheart and Graystripe, for example. Plenty of children’s fantasies are less believable than these, and I sometimes find that many adult books strain credulity much more as well. It is ostensibly a children’s book, but the depth of the characters and the realistic complexity of the plots continue to amaze me. I am still loving this series about the four clans of feral cats living in the forest. This book, A Dangerous Path, is the fifth book in the Original Series of the Warriors Series (there are several sub-series in the series now).
